Seasonal Planning

Best Time for Bali Luxury Transfer

A month-by-month look at weather, crowds, and pricing — from peak July to the lush, low-season landscapes of February.

In Short

Bali sits 8 degrees south of the equator with average year-round temperatures of 27–30°C and humidity of 75–85%. The island has two seasons — dry and wet — but the difference between peak, shoulder, and low season is where the real planning lives.

Bali's Dual Seasons

Bali's Dual Seasons

The dry season runs roughly April to October, and the wet season November to March. Within each, there are sub-windows with very different traveller profiles, crowd levels, and accommodation rates — understanding which window you are entering matters more than the broader dry/wet distinction.

Peak Dry Season — June, July, August
02 Chapter

Peak Dry Season — June, July, August

The golden window. Temperatures average 28°C with rainfall under 50 mm per month, ideal marine conditions, and the year’s most reliable weather. Accommodation rates rise 30–40% and the top resorts sell out months ahead — 6 to 9 months of lead time is sensible.

Shoulder Seasons — April, May & September, October
03 Chapter

Shoulder Seasons — April, May & September, October

The savvy traveller’s choice. Excellent weather (28–29°C, rainfall 80–150 mm monthly), fewer crowds, accommodation rates 15–25% lower than peak, and the same access to beaches, temples, and marine activities.

Early Wet Season — November, December
04 Chapter

Early Wet Season — November, December

Festive charm and lush, photogenic landscapes. Around 200 mm of rain in November, building through December. Tourist numbers spike again around Christmas and New Year, with surge pricing for the last 10 days of the year.

Deep Wet Season — January, February, March
05 Chapter

Deep Wet Season — January, February, March

Verdant landscapes, fewest tourists, and the lowest prices — often 30–40% discounts versus peak. The wettest months see 250–450 mm of rain, but tropical rain typically arrives as short, heavy afternoon showers. Excellent for wellness retreats, cultural immersion, and slower travel.

Strategic Planning Beyond the Calendar

Strategic Planning Beyond the Calendar

Beyond the month, watch for Galungan and Kuningan (Balinese Hindu holidays), Nyepi (the Day of Silence in March, when the entire island shuts down for 24 hours), and Indonesian school holidays. Each impacts accommodation availability, traffic, and the rhythm of the island in ways the weather chart will not show.

Ask a Question

What is the absolute best month for first-time visitors?

For weather alone, June or July. For value-for-experience, April, May, September, and early October consistently deliver excellent weather at significantly lower rates than peak.

Is the wet season really a problem?

Not for most travellers. Rain arrives in short, heavy afternoon bursts and clears quickly. Mornings are typically sunny. The trade-offs are excellent for guests who prioritise landscape beauty and lower crowds.

When should I avoid Bali?

Few weeks are universally poor, but the Christmas–New Year window has the highest pricing of the year, and Nyepi (typically in March) closes the entire island for 24 hours. If you fly in or out around Nyepi, plan accommodation accordingly.

How does season affect chauffeur availability?

Peak season requires the most advance notice for top vehicles (Alphard, V-Class) — ideally 1–2 weeks ahead. Off-peak we can almost always accommodate within 48 hours.
